Halloween 2011

I was kept so busy this past week working on Halloween stuff. Halloween is a huge even for the school. Every year there is a haunted house competition for all the studios, and usually the foundation year joins a studio since they don't usually get a place. This year was different; the foundation year got the student lounge, and worked with another studio which have a room in the other building which is still under construction. We did an Insane Asylum, and I got to be a guide. It was great fun though with our practice run through one of our zombies grabbed me, and I screamed. I wore my purple plaid Lolita outfit too. I also wore my glasses which I normally don't do with my Lolita outfits.
All the studios but two did a haunted house, and I went to two out of three, or four. They were really good. There were some great scares. There were other haunted houses in the city, and there was one I went to last year that was amazing but I didn't get to go to any other haunted houses. The only one I went through was the studio to win, and it was amazing. They did Fiber Hell as a theme.
Friday was Costume Contest Day. I was rather excited for this. I did a coordination Lolita of "Candy Princess." I wore my Metamorphose Candy Land Popping Balloons dress with the alice bow, socks, pink mary-janes, my wig, and a few other accessories that matched the theme. I even hunted down a cupcake shaped lollipop. I won most creative, and my roommate also won a title as well. This isn't a very flattering photo but it was the only one taken.
I watched the Nightmare Before Christmas on Friday evening with my roommates since I have never seen it before. I have to say I liked it. There are so many movies I haven't seen, because I never got to see them as a kid.
We went to a costume contest Saturday night, and it was great fun. Before this happened we had an episode of the downstairs cat escaping so we ran around in the dark looking for the cat which we eventually caught. I wore a maid costume, and I realized that it left black dye all around my waist, and where it stopped on my arms.
Did Trick-or-Eat Monday night on the official Halloween date. This was my first time attending the event. I only borrowed my roommate's cat ears. It was a lot of fun, and I was in an outside part of the city I have never been to before. Another group's route overlapped ours so we walked for a bit, and then got lost. We did make it back to the car, and dropped our food off, and then the bus came. I met some new people seeing as my roommate found us a group to join.
As of Friday it has officially been a year since I left university to follow something more my style, and that I got accepted to where I am currently going. I couldn't be happier. I have made some great new friends, and I am learning so much.
I got a new brand of contact lenses, and they are a lot more comfortable. They are easier to insert, but I find them quite difficult to remove. I even have new cleaning solution with a contraption that scares me. It is mostly the solution, because I have seen, and heard the horror stories of the solution. I might be able to get coloured lenses, and my doctor will look into it. I am so happy, I may be limited to colour, but oh well. All the time my hopes go up, and down with this subject it gets really hard sometimes but I haven't given up yet.
Now it is time to let my body rest as I am beginning to get sick. I still have to focus on schoolwork though.

Ball-Jointed Dolls

I have be interested in Ball-Jointed Dolls for a few years now. Back when my interest first started I had no one around to help me with any aspect of the hobby, and I had no clue where to look. I have made a friend in college who has helped me out a lot so far. Also one of the teachers at the college does Ball-Jointed Dolls as well.
I ordered my first Doll from Doll-Zone. Lola. I will just be getting her base body with no face-up, and random eyes. I am working on finding wigs, clothing, and the perfect eyes. I am so excited for her to come in.

One of my favourite dolls has to be Volks Lieselotte. She is so pretty. <3

I don't know if I will ever have more than one doll, maybe. It is really exciting though. <3

Interesting Long Weekend

In one week I got my GST, and my Student Loan which is great.
I have been having a great time with the friends I made at school. The problem is when I am with friends I tend to put off my homework, so I skipped Ceramics Friday, and got caught up in all my classes. I also went in on Monday, and finished a project with help because I was cutting mat board, and made some bowls for ceramics. I am glad that this week is the final ceramics class. I had a random elevator ride with the drawing teacher who sang the entire time, and they could hear him on the third floor.
Went out for food Friday night with my roommate, and some others, and most places had a wait. We went to East Side Mario's first, and then Boston Pizza, after calling a few places we decided to stay a Boston Pizza for food, and had a great time.
I got to have Thanksgiving dinner with a friend, her grandparents, and two other people. I would rather have had it with family, but I was told not to come home by my father, and my family where I currently live haven't contacted me since I moved....
Should mention I finally have a small television in my room that I bought from a roommate. Now I can play video games, and watch movies in my room. <3 One of us has to get a mini fridge because our fridge is not big enough for everyone.
Work was quite dead this weekend. No one really wants to buy a suit on a long weekend. We did have a lot of tuxedo returns though.

Busy Weeks

I got help on the throwing wheel this week from a studio tech, and I can now somewhat do it, and I am ecstatic that I can now do it better. I went to my drawing teacher's gallery opening, and I went to another gallery opening of another teacher in the school. They both do amazing work. This week I am going to go have lunch with the dean of the school, and an artist talk with Peter Gibson, a Canadian Graffiti artist from Montreal. It is going to be a great week. Assessment week is coming up soon, and I have no idea what to expect the teachers to say about my work. I am absolutely terrified for it.
I am unfortunately still waiting a while on money from Student Loans. Once again it is a good thing I decided to call, or I would have been screwed for a longer period of time....
I mostly work on the weekends which can be very boring, but it was very busy this weekend due to a buy one, get one free. We are also having another one later in the month.
I picked up my pre-ordered copy of Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns for the DS, and got my little alpaca plushie. I absolutely love the game, but they are getting harder, and harder to play as I love the old system better. I do love the concept of befriending animals which they kept from Animal Parade. The alpaca wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but I still love it anyways.
My iPod is not working properly, and I will have to replace the audio jack in the bottom which I have no clue how to do. I got my Father to ship me my good old Zune, and ordered a new sync cable since my old one doesn't work. I am going to be glad when all that gets here I loved it way more than my iPod. I also uninstalled anything by Apple on my computer; I am not really a big fan of them anyways.
